INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Officials at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis have lifted a second alert warning students about an armed robbery near campus.
In an update on the school's website around 10 p.m. Tuesday, officials said the matter was in the hands of Indianapolis police and advised students they could resume "normal activities."
Campus officials issued two alerts within hours.
The second warned of two robbery suspects and said authorities were searching for them. Officials cautioned students to take "safe shelter."
Earlier Tuesday, university officials said police reported an armed robber had fled toward campus.
Indianapolis police spokesman Officer Rafael Diaz says officers couldn't find the armed man who robbed a person near an off-campus apartment. The university says a second robbery happened nearby.
Diaz says there'll be increased police presence on campus.
