NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey state troopers have made a special delivery on one of the nation's busiest toll roads.
Four troopers helped deliver a baby on the New Jersey Turnpike after a mother-to-be unexpectedly went into labor while traveling Monday afternoon.
Troopers Robert Ravotto and Robert Ciecwisz and Detectives Jason Kazan and Robert Kilmurray responded to help the woman around 2:45 p.m. in Newark.
Her husband was driving her to the doctor for a check-up. The mom and baby girl were taken to University Medical Center and police say they are doing well.
This story has been corrected to show the last name of the police officer is Ciecwisz, not Ciecwicz. The news release from police had a spelling error.
