AP PHOTOS: Editor selections from Latin America

In the week that was in Latin America, presidential elections heated up in Argentina and Haiti, with violence erupting in Port-au-Prince and opposition presidential candidate Maurici Macri toppling the ruling party in the South American country.

Brazil showed its solidarity with the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks by lighting the Planalto Presidential Palace with the colors of the French flag and by holding candlelight vigils in Rio de Janeiro.

Hundreds of Cuban migrants were stopped by Nicaraguan authorities and forcibly returned across the border into Costa Rica, causing tensions to soar between the neighbors.

Throughout the region the country's national soccer teams confronted each other, vying for places in the 2018 Soccer World Cup. In Honduras Luis Garrido broke his knee in a play against Mexico's Javier Aquino. In Chile, Uruguay defeated the proud Chileans in a lopsided 3-0.

In Mexico, South Korea's Inbee Park celebrated after winning the LPGA Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Mexico City.
