NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a man suspected of trying to rape a woman in the lobby of her Manhattan apartment building has been arrested after officers spotted him urinating in the street and recognized his "Batman" jacket.
Thirty-one-year-old Rubicel Sanchez is being held on attempted rape, burglary and sexual abuse charges.
Police say Sanchez tried to rape a 62-year-old woman around 1 a.m. Friday. The woman fought back and the attacker ran off.
Investigators later released photos of the suspect wearing a leather jacket with a "Batman" logo on it.
Police say two officers spotted Sanchez urinating in the street Friday night. They arrested him after noticing he was wearing the same jacket.
It wasn't immediately clear if Sanchez had an attorney who could comment on the charges.
