PHOENIX (AP) — A man has been arrested after large rocks were thrown at vehicles on a Phoenix freeway, injuring a 9-year-old girl.
Bond was set at $150,000 for 22-year-old Michael Santiago Kerrick at his initial court appearance Monday. He doesn't have a lawyer yet.
Kerrick was arrested Sunday night and is being held on suspicion of 10 counts of endangerment, 10 counts of criminal damage, seven counts of aggravated assault and other charges.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say a trooper found a man throwing rocks Sunday night on Interstate 10 and arrested him after a foot chase down an embankment.
They say one rock broke a vehicle's windshield and hit a 9-year-old girl in the face. DPS says she lost two teeth and will require reconstructive surgery.
