LOS ANGELES (AP) — An immigration judge has reached a settlement with the federal government in a lawsuit alleging that an order recusing her from hearing Iranian immigrants' cases was discriminatory.

Court records filed Tuesday show Immigration Judge A. Ashley Tabaddor and the Department of Justice agreed to end the suit.

Tabaddor alleged last year that she was recused from hearing the cases of Iranian immigrants because of her involvement in the Iranian-American community. She was born in Iran and is a former federal prosecutor.

A copy of the settlement provided by Tabaddor's lawyers on Wednesday says the 2012 recusal order will have no effect on Tabaddor and the government will pay her $200,000 in attorneys' fees and damages.

Justice Department spokeswoman Nicole Navas declined to comment on the litigation.
