HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — Authorities in Alabama say a man has been charged with murder in the ambush killing of a Home Depot co-worker last month.
Local news media reports that Hoover police arrested 23-year-old Kareem Dacar Gaymon on Friday and charged him in the shooting death of 25-year-old Xavier Montez Beasley. Police say Beasley was found lying with gunshot wounds in the parking lot at Home Depot in Hoover on Sept. 5.
Police say Gaymon left work earlier that night, hid in the parking lot, then shot Beasley.
Police spokesman Capt. Gregg Rector says the store was closed several hours before the shooting occurred, but some employees often work past closing time.
Gaymon was taken to Hoover City Jail and will be transferred to Shelby County jail on a $1 million bond.
