SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A brief lockdown has been lifted at a San Antonio university after a report of an armed person on campus turned out to be prompted by a sighting of a security guard.
The University of the Incarnate Word tweeted early Wednesday morning that the campus was on lockdown after university police received "another report of a possible armed individual." Tuesday evening, multiple agencies responded after a similar report, searching the campus and surrounding area but finding no sign of a suspect.
The university tweeted about 40 minutes after the announcement of the lockdown that it had been lifted. A statement says security footage confirmed the sighting was not of a suspect but of a security guard.
The school is the largest Catholic university in Texas and has about 9,200 students.
