LORAIN, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man accused of trespassing into a crashed car to record cellphone video of the grisly scene has pleaded not guilty to bribery and witness intimidation charges.
Lorain police say Paul Pelton recently went to the home of the 17-year-old driver and tried to bribe him. They say Pelton offered to claim police injured a teenage passenger who died after the July crash if the driver would say Pelton had permission to enter the car and record the scene.
Pelton appeared Monday in Lorain Municipal Court and was freed on a $2,500 bond. His attorney hasn't returned messages seeking comment. He previously pleaded not guilty to a vehicle trespass charge.
The teen driver was hurt and could face charges. His car went airborne after crossing railroad tracks.
