LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Lewiston, Idaho, police say a gun accidentally fired in the department's basement at the end of a training session for the force's SWAT team, injuring the hands of two of the officers.
The Lewiston Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1W6fFbh ) the weapon fired Wednesday afternoon, and it's unclear if it happened while the gun was being cleaned or while bullets were being removed from its chamber.
Police Chief Chris Ankeny says the injuries appear to be minor.
The department has initiated an internal investigation.
