SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a 13-year-old boy who was shot in the leg rode his bicycle to a central New York hospital for help.
Syracuse police who were responding to a call of shots fired arrived at the scene Saturday night and learned that the victim had already gone to nearby Upstate University Hospital for treatment.
Police say the boy had been in a crowd on a street corner when an unidentified man fired a handgun into the crowd. They say the boy suffered a minor gunshot wound to his leg. The gunman fled.
Police say he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt that covered his face. No other description was available.
