WESTON, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say four people were killed and one person seriously injured after a two-car accident in South Florida.
Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mike Wysocky says the head-on collision happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on northbound U.S. 27 in Weston.
Wysocky says three of the victims were inside an overturned SUV or van, and the fourth was in a car.
It wasn't immediately clear what caused the accident.
Officials say a 69-year-old man was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities say all lanes of U.S. 27 northbound reopened early Wednesday.
