LANCASTER, N.H. (AP) — The circus that was performing when a severe storm blew down a tent in New Hampshire and killed two spectators is putting on its first shows since the accident.
Walker International Events of Sarasota, Florida, is scheduled to do two shows Sunday in Sanford, Maine. The company canceled shows in Vermont and New Hampshire following Monday's collapse.
About 100 people were under the tent at the Lancaster fairgrounds when the storm, with wind gusts up to 75 mph, blew through the area just after 5:30 p.m. Initially, workers told the spectators to stay put, then told them to leave immediately and take shelter in their cars.
A 41-year-old father and his 6-year-old daughter from Concord, Vermont, were killed. Fifty other spectators were injured.
An investigation into the collapse is continuing.
