COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police in Ohio say a pizza deliveryman has been robbed and shot to death while taking an order to a property that turned out to be vacant.
Columbus police found 59-year-old James Flannery on Thursday night while responding to a report of a traffic accident. Police say it appears he drove away in his vehicle after being robbed and shot but then crashed in an intersection in the southeast suburbs.
Responding officers discovered Flannery had been critically hurt by a gunshot. He died at a hospital.
WCMH-TV reports investigators suspect he was robbed by more than one person and say whoever attacked him got away with a small amount of cash and two pizzas.
