PHOENIX (AP) — A rollover crash in downtown Phoenix has killed two, injured seven and closed four westbound lanes on Interstate 10.
According to an Arizona Department of Public Safety news release, at about 3 p.m. a Chevrolet Tahoe driving east lost the left rear tire tread around 3 p.m. Sunday. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crossing the median before rolling over and stopping in the westbound lane.
The Tahoe had nine passengers. Five people were ejected. A man and a woman died at the scene. A westbound minivan struck one of them. Three other adults were taken to the hospital as well as a 7-year-old boy and two children under the age of 5. The driver had non-life-threatening injuries.
