BOSTON (AP) — A retired pediatrician who lives on Cape Cod and once practiced in New York has been sentenced to more than five years in prison after pleading guilty to federal child pornography charges.
Prosecutors say 65-year-old Daniel O'Hern of Mashpee was sentenced Tuesday to 63 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release, and fined $12,500. He pleaded guilty in April to distribution and possession of child pornography.
O'Hern has been in custody since last year. He previously practiced in New York's Hudson Valley region.
Prosecutors said O'Hern used a public file sharing program to post pictures and videos of children between the ages of 5 and 12 engaged in sexual conduct with adults. Authorities say they found images and videos of children being sexually exploited on computer devices in O'Hern's home in June 2014.
