WARWICK, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a driver's ed car collided with a tractor-trailer at a rural New York intersection, killing two teenage passengers.
The car was hit broadside by a truck on Tuesday in Warwick. The two passengers died the day of the accident.
On Wednesday evening, Goshen School Superintendent Daniel Connor said that a third passenger, 16-year-old Lucas O'Connor, had also died. But on Thursday, Connor said he may have been given incorrect information and that he was unable to confirm the boy's status.
Warwick Police Lt. Tom Maslanka says Westchester Medical Center had listed O'Connor in critical condition Thursday morning. A hospital spokesman didn't return calls from The Associated Press.
The teen girl who was driving and the instructor were injured but survived.
This story has been corrected to show that the crash is known to have killed two people, not three, based on new information from the school superintendent.
