FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Fire officials say a photographer and a model suffered severe injuries when gas fumes ignited during a photo shoot at a Florida salvage yard.
Fort Lauderdale Deputy Fire Chief Timothy Heiser says the man and woman were inside a "shell of a car" when the explosion happened Tuesday. The photographer was using candles and an inoperable car as props.
The victims were taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale with life-threatening injuries. Their names haven't been released, but Heiser says they both had burns throughout their bodies.
Authorities did not immediately explain where the fumes originated. No further details were immediately available.
