Box office top 20: 'Spy' cracks 'San Andreas' with $29.1M

NEW YORK (AP) — Melissa McCarthy's globe-trotting comedy "Spy" cracked The Rock's disaster movie "San Andreas" at the weekend box office, taking the top spot with a $29.1 million debut.

The 20th Century Fox release led a crowded but somewhat lackluster weekend. Focus Feature's low-budget horror prequel "Insidious: Chapter 3" opened strongly with $22.7 million. The HBO series transfer "Entourage" debuted with a less-than-stellar $10.3 million, although it has earned $17.7 million since opening Wednesday.

The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Monday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Tuesday by Rentrak:
