COSHOCTON, Ohio (AP) — A coroner's report says one suspect in the abduction and slaying of an elderly Ohio couple told authorities he shot the pair in the back seat of their car and a second suspect said the woman was alive when the vehicle was torched.

An official cause of death for 88-year-old Doyle Chumney and his 79-year-old wife, Lillian, couldn't be determined because of the conditions of their remains. The Chumneys were reported missing from their home in Strasburg, 20 miles south of Canton, on Jan. 21.

The autopsy reports say suspect Robert Clark told police that he and co-defendant Jeffery Stewart bound the Chumneys with duct tape and drove them into Coshocton County, where Clark shot them and the car was doused with gasoline.
