In this photo by Slamet Riyadi, Celia Veloso, the mother of death row inmate Mary Jane Veloso, walks with her family after visiting her daughter at Wirogunan Prison in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Mary Jane Veloso had been scheduled to be executed by firing squad with eight other drug convicts Wednesday but was granted a stay because her alleged recruiter was arrested in the Philippines, and authorities there requested Indonesian assistance in the investigation. Philippine presidential spokesman Herminio Coloma said the reprieve provides an opportunity for Veloso's testimony to expose how a criminal syndicate duped her into being an unwitting drug courier. Indonesia's Attorney General Muhammad Prasetyo says her execution has not been cancelled but Indonesian authorities want to give a chance to the legal process in the Philippines.
