NEW YORK (AP) — The global warming documentary "Ice and Sky" will close out the 68th Cannes Film Festival.
The French festival announced the selection Thursday, calling the film "a hymn to save the planet." It's directed by Luc Jacquet, whose "March of the Penguins" won the Academy Award for best documentary in 2006.
"Ice and Sky" is also focused on the Antarctic, but on its ice, rather than its penguins. In a statement, Jacquet said he makes "fierce cinema, political cinema, cinema that has no choice."
The Cannes Film Festival runs May 13-24.
