NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock market indexes are mixed in early trading following a strong performance last week.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 27 points, or 0.2 percent, to 18,154 as of 9:31 a.m. Monday
The Standard & Poor's 500 index edged up one point, or 0.1 percent, to 2,109. The S&P 500 jumped 2.7 percent last week, its biggest rise since early February.
The Nasdaq composite slipped seven points, or 0.1 percent, to 5,020. The index is within 29 points of its all-time high from the dot-com bubble in 2000.
Crude oil rose 18 cents to $46.75 a barrel in New York.
Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 1.92 percent.
