NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a 15-year-old Swedish boy with Asperger's syndrome who disappeared from a fast food restaurant in New York City has been found.
They say Marcus Kerttu was found at 1:15 a.m. Sunday at Penn Station in midtown Manhattan. Police say he was recognized by MTA police and reunited with his father.
The father told police his son disappeared on Friday while they were at a McDonald's in lower Manhattan.
The father said he got up to use the bathroom and when he returned his son was gone.
The father and son were supposed to fly back to Sweden on Saturday.
Asperger's is an autism spectrum disorder. It is characterized by difficulties with social interaction.
