BELLEVUE, Pa. (AP) — A single mother who told police she recently lost her job has been jailed on charges she tried to rob $40,000 from a Pennsylvania bank by claiming to have a bomb in her car at a drive-thru window.
Brandy Greulich (GRAY'-lik) remained jailed Wednesday on charges stemming from the robbery attempt at a PNC Bank branch in Bellevue about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Online court records don't list an attorney for 33-year-old Pittsburgh woman.
Police say Greulich pulled up and handed the teller a note claiming she had a bomb in her car. Authorities say the note claimed she was being forced to rob the bank by others who were threatening to kill her and her child if she didn't comply.
Police say the bomb threat was a hoax.
