NEW YORK (AP) — Commuters are experiencing some delays following an early morning fire near Penn Station.

The LIRR says some trains could be diverted to Atlantic terminal in Brooklyn or Hunterspoint Avenue in Queens. It says trains are being canceled at Jamaica Terminal in Queens. Extensive delays are expected on all westbound LIRR trains.

NYC Transit is cross-honoring LIRR fares on four lines, the 2, 3, 7 and E.

A LIRR spokesman says there was no damage to platform and track areas.

Three subway lines, the A, E and C, which had been bypassing Penn Station, are running with residual delays.
