DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia man with a tattoo of fictional cannibal serial killer Hannibal Lecter has been sentenced to at least three years in prison for biting off most of another man's right ear during an attack outside a bar on St. Patrick's Day.
The Bucks County Courier Times reported Wednesday (http://bit.ly/1wBkDiC ) that the judge heard testimony at the sentencing hearing that 24-year-old James Worthington has bitten people before.
Police recovered part of the ear in a Newtown parking lot. Worthington, an amateur boxer, took the stand to call the encounter tragic and say he feels terrible about it.
Worthington's sentence included an assault on an ex-girlfriend and possession of anabolic steroids.
The judge was told Worthington bit another student in high school, his father in 2006 and someone's arm at a wedding.
