LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say 12 people have been injured in a three-vehicle crash in suburban Los Angeles caused by a suspected drunken driver.
Alhambra police Sgt. Joseph Mallette says 11 people were rushed to hospitals, including three in critical condition, following the crash Sunday night.
Another person had minor injuries but refused hospital treatment. All of the injured are expected to survive.
Mallette says 28-year-old Ismael Soto of Los Angeles was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. Soto was among those hurt, but the extent of his injuries is not immediately known.
Officials say a pickup truck was heading north on an Alhambra street when it hit a southbound car and a parked car.
Five ambulances and three fire engine companies responded to the scene.
