CLAIRTON, Pa. (AP) — A shooting early Friday at a building outside Pittsburgh that police described as a speakeasy left six people wounded, and investigators were searching for a shooter or shooters.
All the victims were men in their early 20s, investigators said. Their identities were not released as of Friday evening.
Clairton police were trying to determine the legitimacy of the business where the gunfire erupted at about 3:30 a.m. following a fight, detectives said.
The building, which was taped off after the shooting, has the look of a social club. A sign on the door warns patrons that the establishment is for members only and for people 21 and older.
One victim was airlifted and two victims were taken by ambulance to a trauma center, a county emergency dispatch commander said. Two of them were listed in serious condition. Three others went to an emergency room on their own.
Clairton is located along the Monongahela River about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh.
