DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — An attorney representing a South Carolina woman accused of trying to kill her three children by driving her minivan into the Atlantic Ocean says the mother was severely disoriented due to low blood sugar.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1o08Abo ) reports records about Ebony Wilkerson's blood sugar level are expected to be discussed during a hearing Friday. The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, woman was pregnant when police say she drove into the water March 4. She gave birth to a boy in May.
She's charged with three counts each of attempted murder and child abuse. Her children told investigators she was trying to kill them.
The judge will also consider whether Wilkerson violated terms of her pretrial release by testing positive for alcohol in an Aug. 6 urinalysis.
