AGUILA, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say three children are hurt after a school bus collided with a passenger car on U.S. 60 near the small central Arizona town of Aguila (ah-GHI'-luh).
State Department of Public Safety officials say five children under age 13 and a driver were aboard the Wickenburg School District bus when the crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The severity of the children's injuries isn't immediately clear, and their genders and ages weren't released.
DPS officials say the driver of the car is trapped in the vehicle and is seriously injured, and two other people in the car also are hurt.
Two medical helicopters landed at the scene to airlift the injured to hospitals.
DPS officials say it's still unclear how the crash occurred.
Aguila is about 60 miles northwest of Phoenix.
