NEW YORK (AP) — In some versions of stories Dec. 3-5 about a train derailment in New York City, The Associated Press, relying on information from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, incorrectly reported the train did not have a safety device called an alerter. The MTA now says the train had one, but not in the car where the engineer was.
