HARLINGEN, Texas (AP) — More than 40 people have been hurt after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement bus hauling detainees in South Texas was involved in a wreck.
ICE spokeswoman Nina Pruneda (proo-NAY'-duh) says the accident happened early Thursday morning near Harlingen. She says the 40 detainees from El Salvador and the two bus drivers were transported to hospitals where they were treated and released.
She says the bus was traveling from the Brooks County Detention Center to Harlingen. Further details weren't immediately available.
The Texas Department of Public Safety did not immediately return a message.
