Death toll and damage from Philippine typhoon

The numbers of dead and missing in Philippine provinces hit by Typhoon Haiyan, based on regional government officials and media reports. The figures for Leyte and Samar reflect estimates, rather than actual body counts. All are preliminary.

The government's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said it has a confirmed death toll of 1,744 people, with another 2,487 hurt. Its figures differ slightly from estimates by local officials.

— Samar: 400 dead, 2,000 missing.

— Eastern Samar: 162 dead, 19 missing.

— Cebu: 63 dead, 8 missing.

— Iloilo: 48 dead.

— Capiz: 24 dead, 1 missing.

— Aklan: 5 dead.

— Antique: 4 dead, 8 missing.
