GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — In a story June 30 and July 1 about the use of photography during the Civil War, The Associated Press reported it was the first American military conflict captured by photographers. The story should have made clear that it was the first widely photographed conflict on U.S. soil, and that some photographic images were produced in the earlier Mexican-American War.
