Buses crash on I-95, multiple injuries

STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) — An accident involving two buses on a major Connecticut highway has left multiple people injured and traffic backed up for miles.

The state Department of Transportation says the accident occurred just after 11 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound side of Interstate 95 in Stratford.

The News-Times of Danbury reports five people were seriously injured and seven taken to Bridgeport hospitals. Authorities told the newspaper that 56 other passengers declined medical care.

The accident had traffic backed up more than 6 miles by 11:30 a.m.
