DES MOINES, Wash. (AP) — Investigators say a fire that injured two people and damaged eight boats at a Puget Sound marina appears accidental.
King County sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West says the investigation is continuing, but there's nothing to indicate it was anything other than an accident.
South King Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Gordie Olson says the fire spread from one fiberglass hull to another Sunday night at the covered dock at the marina owned by the city of Des Moines, about 15 miles south of Seattle.
A 28-year-old woman is in serious condition in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A hospital spokeswoman didn't have information on a man in his 30s. Olson said both had second- and third-degree burns.
Officials initially said 12 boats were damaged.
