PHOENIX (AP) — Testimony has concluded in Jodi Arias' murder trial as the prosecutor prepares to deliver closing arguments before the case goes to the jury.
The case has been underway since early January and has captured headlines worldwide with tales of sex, lies and a bloody killing.
Arias faces a potential death sentence if convicted of first-degree murder in the 2008 death of her lover in his suburban Phoenix home. Authorities say she planned the attack on Travis Alexander in a jealous rage. Arias says it was self-defense after initially denying involvement.
Prosecutor Juan Martinez is set to present closing arguments in the case Thursday. Defense closing arguments are set for Friday, and then jurors are expected to begin deliberations.
