NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man has been indicted on federal charges he set a house fire that killed an 8-year-old boy and two of the boy's relatives in retaliation over a drug debt.
The indictment announced Thursday charges New Haven resident Hector Natal with three counts of arson causing death, witness tampering and conspiracy to distribute drugs. His father, Hector Morales, was indicted on witness tampering and destruction of evidence charges in connection with the investigation of last year's fire.
Natal has been in federal custody since last year on drug charges. Morales appeared in federal court in Bridgeport on Thursday and has been held without bail.
