The brother of a suspect in the weekend shooting spree that terrorized Tulsa's black community says he called the night of his arrest, desperately looking for an alibi.
Thirty-three-year-old Alvin Watts was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of first-degree murder and other charges. Police say he and 19-year-old Jake England have confessed to shooting five people, three fatally. All were black, and police say England may have been seeking vengeance for his dad's fatal shooting by a black man two years ago.
Watts' brother, Michael, told KTUL-TV ( http://bit.ly/HvYlLr) that Alvin Watts called him Sunday and, without greeting him, said, "`Brother, I got, I need an alibi!"
Michael Watts says his family isn't racist and the shooting "broke our heart." He says he wants the victims' families to know he's sorry.
