WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. Navy F-18 fighter crashed shortly after take-off into an apartment building in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and set it on fire, authorities said on Friday.
The two crew members ejected safely from the F-18, said Navy spokesman Phil Rosi on MSNBC. He said the plane was from a training squadron at Naval Air Station Oceana at Virginia Beach.
Virginia Beach is on the Atlantic Coast about 200 miles south of Washington, DC.
