Campus competition promotes fiscal sustainability

Groups including former President Bill Clinton's Global Initiative University are challenging college students to get more involved in American and worldwide financial issues.

Teams of students will be asked to create campaigns that educate their campus about money, budgets and other economic issues using social media, new technology, rallies and grass-roots efforts.

They will receive training and meet with experts and each other throughout the school year. Students will be judged on how well their plans raise awareness on campus. The winners, to be announced at the 2013 Clinton Global Initiative University meeting, will receive networking and internship opportunities.

The competition is a joint project of the Clinton Global Initiative University, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation and Net Impact.
