Accused accomplice in NYC madam case faces judge

Prosecutors have given a defense lawyer some details of their case against a matchmaking recruiter accused of helping run a high-end New York prostitution ring.

Jaynie Baker made a brief court appearance Tuesday in Manhattan.

Her lawyer was given documents, including information prosecutors submitted to persuade a judge to sign off on wiretapping in the case. Those documents are not public. It's not uncommon for prosecutors to turn them over at this stage in a case.

Baker's lawyer, Robert Gottlieb, says he'll decide on his next step after reviewing the information. She's due back in court April 20.

Baker and alleged madam Anna Gristina are charged with promoting prostitution. They've pleaded not guilty.

Gottlieb says the charges have subjected the 30-year-old Baker to a swarm of unwanted attention.
