Deliberating jurors in the cold case murder trial of a former Los Angeles police detective are returning to court to rehear testimony from two trial witnesses.
The panel sent a request in its first day of talks that it wanted to hear again the words of a neighbor of the slain Sherri Rasmussen and a housekeeper for another of her neighbors. The two women testified early in the trial but said their memories of events had faded over time.
Attorneys were to return to court Thursday for a session at which a court reporter will read back the testimony.
Stephanie Lazarus is charged with the love triangle murder of Rasmussen 26 years ago. Key evidence in the case is DNA from a bite mark on the victim's arm.
