Two bald eagles are back in the wild courtesy of a New Hampshire State Police trooper after they spent an hour in the middle of a major highway.
The birds were spotted on Route 101 in Bedford just after dawn on Sunday, forcing a trooper to close a lane of traffic.
The trooper diverted traffic around the eagles.
Officials say the birds became agitated as cars went by, causing them to inch toward the high-speed lane.
WMUR-TV ( http://bit.ly/y2vaAz) says the eagles flew off after about an hour and didn't appear to be injured.
There's no word on what prompted the eagles to land on the highway.
