Relatives of a toddler reported missing from her father's Maine home a month ago are trying to keep her disappearance from fading from public view.
Ayla Reynolds' father, his relatives and community members were among about 35 people Tuesday night at a candlelight vigil in Waterville.
Family friend Bob Vear says the vigil was aimed at keeping Ayla's name in the news as the criminal investigation into her disappearance continues. He says people are talking about having a public dinner or concert to raise funds and awareness.
Ayla was reported missing Dec. 17 by her father, who told police she wasn't in her bed that morning at his Waterville home. The 1-year-old was wearing pajamas with the words "Daddy's Princess" on them and had a cast on her broken left arm before she vanished.
