A judge in Alabama is ordering a decades-old Navy plane to be forfeited to federal authorities because it was brought into the country illegally from France.
Claude Hendrickson says he bought the plane because his father had flown a similar model when he was in the Navy in the 1950s. The plane is a Douglas AD-4N Skyrader aircraft.
Hendrickson had the plane flown into Buffalo, N.Y., in August 2008. He says its cannons, log books and parts were seized because he didn't have the right paperwork.
He bought the plane intending to put it on display.
Department of Homeland Security officials say they are transferring the plane to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Fla. It's not immediately clear whether it will go on display there.
