2 held after random shooting

Two men are being held after one of the suspects told investigators he shot a man because he wanted to see him die.

Investigators say they believe it was part of a five-day shooting spree that also left homes and a car damaged.

Mesa County sheriff's spokeswoman Heather Benjamin said Wednesday investigators are trying to determine if there were other shootings.

Aaron Plotner was ordered held at the Mesa County Jail on $1 million bond and Darian Kintz has a $750,000 bond.

The high bonds were ordered after 29-year-old Matthew Daly told a judge Tuesday he fears for his safety. Daly was shot in the shoulder early Thursday as he walked home.

Plotner told deputies he was upset after the shooting because he wanted to watch Daly die.
