Fraternity: No sign Vt. rape survey was sanctioned

A national fraternity says there's no indication that a Vermont chapter sanctioned a survey that allegedly asked members who they would like to rape.

University of Vermont officials say a student reported the questionnaire to them over the weekend. The Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter has been suspended while the school, national organization leaders and police investigate.

About 150 people attended a rally at the university organized by a women's rights group in reaction to the questionnaire. The Thursday rally was organized by FED UP Vermont to speak out against what it calls "rape culture and sexism."

The school's interim president says the allegations, if true, are deeply disturbing, offensive and unacceptable and would represent a profound insult and acute injury to the community.
