The last of seven defendants in a $3 million scheme to ship marijuana to Ohio in suitcases has been sentenced to nine months in prison.
Los Angeles resident Henry Hernandez must also serve nine months of home detention following his sentencing Friday in U.S. District Court.
He pleaded guilty this year to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute more than 200 pounds of marijuana. His attorney had asked for leniency, saying his client had one of the smallest roles in the conspiracy.
Authorities say the scheme involved shipping marijuana to Ohio aboard private chartered jets.
